Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT emphasizes that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Changed thinking and behavior is possible through identification of beliefs, awareness of automatic thoughts and cognitive modification/restructuring.

Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-informed care recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms/ experiences and acknowledges the role trauma may play in our life. Some guiding principles while processing trauma can be creating space for safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment.

Psychodynamic

The psychodynamic approach assists in finding patterns in our emotions, thoughts, and beliefs in order to gain insight into our current self instead of focusing on behavior.

Motivational Interviewing

MI engages a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication to create an empathic connection, encouraging the sharing of our thoughts, feelings, and experiences around struggles with particular behaviors, and enhancing our own motivations.

Mindfulness

"Mindfulness" based approach uses mindfulness meditation or techniques to teach us to consciously pay attention to our thoughts and feelings with a non-judgmental attitude. Certain techniques help ground us in the present and teach us how to pay attention to what comes up in our bodies when processing or expressing lived experiences.

Humanistic

The humanistic approach focuses on the importance of being your true self, with self awareness and self acceptance as guiding principles. Through knowing ourselves better we are able to create safe and meaningful life experiences.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is collaborative and helps us identify and use our strengths and abilities to instill a sense of purpose. Through self-determination and the ability to identify and use our strengths; Change is possible. We all have inherent value.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Solution-focused brief therapy is a short-term model that emphasizes realistic solutions for current challenges in life.
